A beloved 90s drama series that made household names of several of its stars is now available to watch in full.

First airing in 1994, the teen family drama Part of Five aired for six seasons until it wrapped up in 2000.

Set in San Francisco, it followed five siblings following the devastating loss of their parents after they are killed by a drunk driver in a car accident, with the children also taking over the running of their family’s restaurant.

The leads were Scott Wolf as Bailey, Matthew Fox as Charlie, Neve Campbell as Julia, and Lacey Chabert as Claudia Salinger, with their baby brother Owen played by several actors.

Although the first two seasons struggled to take off, a win at the 1996 Golden Globes saw the show’s popularity and ratings skyrocket.

Throughout its run, Party of Five was celebrated for tackling themes including substance abuse, domestic violence, teen pregnancy and mental illness.

Over the years viewers have shared their thoughts on the series online, with some labelling it ‘compelling’.

‘Party of Five is absolutely the greatest teen drama ever on the small screen. One of the many things that I absolutely love about this show is how realistic the show really is,’ Jordan posted on IMDB.

‘For the most part, this is a 90’s nostalgia trip for someone who missed it in original broadcast. Unlike other teen dramas, the scripting and the dialogue aren’t distracting or overdone. It proceeds from a perspective of normal people, living their lives, attempting to piece together their lives,’ user Svenstadt shared.

‘What an amazing show! Just finished watching the series finale and cried like a baby,’ kierrasara added.

Another went so far as to call it ‘the most touching show in TV history’ while others said it still held up decades later.

Party of Five also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt as Sarah Reeves Merrin. She appeared in seasons 26, with her character being Bailey’s on-off girlfriend from high school.

Another notable cast member was Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Severance), who played Julia’s college friend and crush Josh Macon in season 5.

After Party of Five ended, Fox went on to star in Lost, Campbell starred in the Scream franchise and Chabert appeared in Mean Girls and has gone on to become a Hallmark movie star.

Although a spin-off starring Hewitt, titled Time of Your Life, was released in 1999, it was cancelled after one season.

In 2020 a reboot, which followed five siblings after their parents are deported back to Mexico, hit screens but was cancelled after just a single season too.

Party of Five is now streaming on ITVX.
