Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson’s relationship may be over, but their romance still kind of exists in the world of TV.
While their Christmas breakup is said to have been relatively drama-free, there’s a bit of an ‘awkward’ lingering issue. When they were still happily committed to each other, Sam, 32, and Zara, 28, filmed together for Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, and the footage will still be aired.
The pair took part in the Midnight Gameshow segment on the BBC One show, which sees the host burst into celebrities’ homes in the middle of the night to ask a series of bonkers questions.
An exclusive clip of their time on the programme together has now been revealed, weeks after they were said to have broken up.
In it, Michael has walked into Zara and Sam in bed in their home in Chelsea, having just woken up.
Not only are they in hysterics at Michael’s intrusion, but they’re left in further giggles when a member of their former Made In Chelsea cast, Mark-Francis Vandelli, also comes in.

‘Good morning,’ Mark-Francis declares, with I’m A Celebrity winner Sam looking gobsmacked.
Clambering out of bed while still topless, Sam greets Mark-Francis with a hug, before saying: ‘You didn’t fully want that hug, did you?’
Back in bed, he then confesses he might ‘throw up’, leaving Zara with her face in her hands as she hides back her laughter.
‘I’m just panicking,’ Sam says.

Michael then moves onto the game, quizzing Sam and Mark-Francis on ‘real world’ questions like how much a pint of milk costs.
During the challenge, Sam can be seen looking quite loved-up with Zara, touching her shoulder and holding hands.
At one point, things take quite a turn when an ‘unwell’ Sam avoids vomiting, but ends up farting.
Zara is nearly in tears crying, while Sam hides his face, before running off to find a Gaviscon.

‘This might be the one that goes horribly wrong,’ Michael admitted (Picture: BBC)
‘I said this all day, this might be the one that goes horribly wrong,’ Michael quips.
While the challenge airs, viewers also see Sam and Zara watching themselves back after the surprise.
This comes after sources said it would be ‘rather awkward’ to air the clip, amid the timing.
‘Now they’ve broken up it’s going to be rather awkward if the BBC chooses to air it,’ a source previously told The Sun.

‘Obviously Zara and Sam enjoyed it so they are not kicking up a stink. But it is rather embarrassing to think they’re going to have to watch themselves back on telly when they were still together.’
However, filming the humorous skit was a joyous experience for them both, and so in some ways they would also see it as a shame for it to never be seen.
With their break-up having occurred just weeks before the new series, it was said that they may not have had a choice but to keep it in anyway as cutting it would be a ‘nightmare’.
The source added Zara and Sam may choose to avoid watching when comedian Michael’s new series of Big Show launches on Saturday.
Zara and Sam dated for five years (Picture: Instagram)
After five years together, the couple reportedly called it quits in December. The split is allegedly the result of a difficult year, that saw them both focusing on individual projects.
Zara has been busy working on documentaries, and Sam recently spent a significant amount of time in Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’s spin-off show, Unpacked.
Despite Sam writing that Zara was ‘stuck with me forever’ on December 14, reports emerged that it was all over on New Year’s Day, and the pair did appear to spend their Christmas’ apart.
TV execs have wasted no time in making use of their new single statuses, it is claimed.

Reality show Celebs Go Dating is said to be eyeing Zara up for the 2025 season. The E4 series sees a group of famous faces throw themselves into the dating scene while being guided by experts.
‘Celebs Go Dating bosses are really keen to sign Zara up for the 2025 series – she’s a huge fan favourite and they think she’d be perfect for the show and have men lining up to date her,’ a source has said.
Neither Zara or Sam has addressed the rumours of their break-up, but have instead used their social media to update fans on their work projects.
Zara is back in front of the camera for an upcoming BBC Three documentary, and wrote: ‘First day back at work, doing what I love & am so grateful for.’ She’s previously done episodes on subjects Ibiza, revenge porn, and disordered eating. Meanwhile, Sam shared an uplifting message about having a good week.
Metro previously contacted Zara and Sam’s representatives for comment.
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday at 6.50pm.
