Netflix has done it again.
After the success of Selling Sunset – where glam realtors sell multi-million dollar LA homes – the streamer has set its sights on a number of different branches of the franchise.
Having subsequently released Selling the OC and Selling Tampa, the cameras have arrived in New York to follow some explosive drama and new lip gloss-wearing estate agents.
Fans are raving about the show online, with @cgothis saying: ‘This entire cast has outdressed in one season all seasons of Selling Sunset and Selling The OC combined.’
@alloveranthony added: ‘If you aren’t watching #SellingTheCity, you’re missing out. The last 2 minutes of season 1 are insane and some of the best tv I’ve seen in a long time.’
‘Alright, netflix.. yall done did it again. I’m hooked,’ wrote @cripsynotcrispy, as @jaydouglas__98 said: ‘Just finished season one of #SellingTheCity and I am gagged, this franchise stays being my favourite thing ever.’

@fodenfilter said: ‘Eleanora is probably the first Netflix reality tv protagonist that I like. Just a genuine, good person, crushing it at what she does. Yet the show still remains entertaining. This has the potential to be the best selling sunset franchise.’
Meanwhile, @_palmviews wrote: ‘I need a season 2 of Selling The City IMMEDIATELY.’
The reality TV show follows realtors in New York City working at Douglas Elliman (DE), as top agent Eleonora Srugo forms her own team after closing a whopping $75 million deal.

In this team is fiery newbie Abigail Godfrey, Giselle Meneses, Jordyn Taylor Braff and Southern belle – and Elonora’s star pupil -Taylor Middleton.
While there are a few men around the office peripheral (The Corcoran Group broker Steve Gold and DE agent Justin Tuinstra) Selling the City focuses on the women and their personal goals and failures as they work their way to the top.
Enter Jade Chan – Eleonora’s old friend and fellow Douglas Elliman agent – who ruffles the feathers of her friend’s new team, creating a whole load of drama.
It all got a bit meta in the final dramatic showdown episode, with (spoiler ahead) Jade even threatening to sue Netflix while, er, on Netflix.
It is unclear whether Selling the City will be renewed for a season two, but the streamer often waits for audience reaction before making a decision.
We’re on season eight of the franchise’s original Selling Sunset – starring Chishelle Stause and Emma Hernan – so fans are feeling optimistic.
This Netflix drop comes as LA residents are fighting the wildfires which have ripped through the city over the past week, causing 25 deaths and over 180,000 people to evacuate.
LA-based brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim – owners of the Oppenheim Group, the business which is the subject of Selling Sunset – have been vocal in their support for those who have lost their homes in their home California.
‘If you’ve lost your home in the Los Angeles fires,’ Jason, 47, began in a statement, continuing: ‘And you need to find a place to rent until your home is rebuilt, all Oppenheim Group agents will represent you for free or credit you back any commission we receive in the transaction.’
He continued in the video, saying: ‘I woke up this morning to a lot of friends and clients reaching out because they lost their homes over the last couple of days.
‘They need help with places to live now. Their families are displaced. As real estate agents we obviously have an obligation to help them find a place – even when it’s going to be difficult.’
Jason carried on: ‘Thousands of people are looking for places and there aren’t anywhere near enough houses available. But the Oppenheim Group is offering to represent anybody for free.’
In response, many people hailed the group as ‘beyond kind’ for their offer of help as the blaze rages on.
Selling the City is now streaming on Netflix.
