Unexpected star of The Traitors ‘will win series after keeping head down’

The Traitors is heating up with the final just days away, and fans think an unlikely contestant could walk away with the money.

With just three episodes left to air, Minah Shannon is still hanging on after proving herself to be the Ultimate Traitor, but her position in the final isn’t as definite as it once seemed.

Her name has been mentioned more than ever at recent roundtables, and now fans think there are other contenders to emerge victorious on Friday.

Minah’s recruitment of Charlotte Berman to the Traitor cause has shaken things up, but it’s former British diplomat Alexander Dragonetti who has people talking right now.

Over on Reddit, fan Puzzleheaded-Rip6644 is convinced the 38 year old has what it takes.

‘I feel like from the start Alexander has probably been the most intelligent (both in the traditional sense and comes across as having great emotional/interpersonal intelligence),’ they suggested.

‘I feel like he is biding his time, keeping his head down, waiting for the numbers to dwindle, and has possibly clocked perhaps both Minah and Charlotte.

‘I feel like he’s clocked Minah but was aware she wouldn’t be voted out and has therefore kept largely quiet, and he would have realised that Charlotte had her suspicions of Minah (vocalised when playing badminton) but kept quiet when it was brought forward- he’s clever enough to notice this.’

They predicted that ‘Alexander The Great’ (their words) could take the crown – but not everyone is quite so sure.

‘He won’t win,’ argued @FairBlueberry9319. ‘The death game theory will be explored again. If I’m a faithful, there’s no way I go to the end of the game without eliminating everyone that took part in it. And he joined late too. Double wammy.’

Alexander, along with Fozia Fazil and Jack Marrinder-Brown, stepped off the train en route to the castle as part of a special mission before the game officially got underway.

The trio had a chance to be brought back into the game with market trader Jack missing out, and Fozia was eliminated in the brutal Death Match.

Despite proving himself a useful member of the Faithful team, fans think his journey might count against him in the castle.

‘I’m expecting he’ll be banished soon because he wasn’t in the castle since day 1. Everyone’s main priority at the next couple of banishments will be self preservation,’ said @adh0r.

‘Whether they are voting a faithful or a traitor will be secondary to that. So the “originals” (everyone except Alexander) are very likely to collectively turn on him as soon as anyone raises a semi-plausible explanation for why he is a traitor.’

The Traitors continues Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One.
