The Traitors fans ‘coming out in hives’ over bombshell that’s obliterated final

Will Charlotte manage to somehow tell Frankie she’s a Traitor and manage to stay in the game? (Picture: BBC)

That was quite the episode.

The BBC’s best show ever The Traitors just aired its penultimate episode, with tomorrow’s finale revealing whether the Traitor Charlotte or the Faithfuls – Leanne, Frankie, Alexander and Jake – will take home the £120,000 cash prize.

If Traitor Charlotte is left in the final group without being banished, she will take all of the money, leaving the Faithfuls empty-handed. If Charlotte is banished by suspicious Faithfuls – leaving no Traitors in the final group – the Faithfuls will split the winnings equally.

However, the biggest spanner in the world has just wedged itself into Charlotte’s traitorous gameplay.

The Seer superpower was bestowed on Faithful Frankie tonight by Claudia Winkleman after she bagged the most coins in the challenge.

In a The Traitors first, the Seer gets to choose one contestant whose identity they can find out. In a turn of events no one saw coming, Frankie chose Charlotte – to confirm her as a fellow Faithful. Little does she know her good friend and ally Charlotte is the only Traitor remaining in the game.

Frankie will then presumably tell the other faithfuls – but will they believe her, or think Frankie is a Traitor herself? (Picture: BBC.Studio Lambert)

Tomorrow we will see it all play out, but that’s okay: an hour was quite enough drama for fans, with some quipping they were having physical reactions to the reality show.

Elsewhere in the episode, poor newly recruited Traitor Freddie was banished after sweating under the pressure of his new role when Charlotte set him up for failure.

Charlotte suggested she and new naive Traitor Freddie kill Leanne – while not disclosing to Freddie she knew Leanne had a secret shield, meaning she couldn’t be killed.

Freddie was among those contestants who Leanne didn’t tell she had a shield. So when Leanne turned up for breakfast – very much still in the game – suspicion turned to Freddie and Alexander, who didn’t know Leanne had a shield.

Savage, Charlotte. But beautiful.

Realising he’d been betrayed, Freddie turned on Charlotte and tried to sway suspicion towards her, but fell short and was ousted while trying to vote his fellow Traitor out.

What will happen in The Traitors final after Seer superpower?

The Traitors final is airing tomorrow at 8.30pm on BBC One.

There are a number of ways the game could go tomorrow for Traitor Charlotte. She may still win. Here are some possible outcomes:

Frankie will tell everyone Charlotte is a Traitor and Charlotte gets banished (Faithfuls win)
Frankie will tell everyone Charlotte is a Traitor, but people think Frankie is a Traitor trying to frame Charlotte. If Charlotte convinces the Faithfuls she is one of them, she manages to banish Frankie and wins as a Traitor (or is also banished herself)
Suspicion will be placed on both Charlotte and Frankie after their private conversation as Seer and, ur, Seen. The safest bet for the Faithfuls would be to get rid of both of them to ensure they take home the money.
There could be another twist that would see Charlotte given the opportunity to recruit Frankie as a Traitor and they team up. Frankie would tell the group Charlotte is a Faithful, and the group will probably believe her as these two have very little suspicion on them. In this case, Traitors win…

Our poor heads!

Everyone was loving the Seer twist, as @Apuforu said: ‘What a brilliant twist.’

‘This is brilliant. What a hook! Nobody’s switching over tonight,’ said @GuyLambertUK.

This comes hot off the heels of Minah’s shock exit last night – a contestant who has been heralded the Queen Traitor of all time, after her masterful gameplay and loyalty to ‘the sisterhood’ of female Traitors.

However, her protege Charlotte – who she recruited to go with her all the way to the final – ultimately stabbed her in the back, spreading doubt at her faithfulness among other contestants, and voting her out on the round table.

Jake is left – but will his conviction that the Traitors ‘must be male’ bring him down? (Picture: BBC / Studio Lambert)

In an exclusive interview with Metro, Minah reflected on her time in the Scottish castle – admitting she was ‘blindsided’ by Charlotte, and ‘gutted’ to have been booted off the show after her efforts.

‘I was surprised when Charlotte mentioned me as being a potential traitor just before the vote,’ Minah recalled.

‘I just felt so blindsided in that moment. I thought, “What’s going on?” And then as soon as she said that, I thought, “There’s no way she’s not going to write my name”.’

She continued: ‘I was gutted. But then the game-player mentality in me actually thought, “Fair play.” I thought fair play to you because I did not see it coming and, up until then, I thought we were going to the final together. I really did.’

Previously in the series, original Traitors Linda and Armani were banished after they failed to convince the Faithfuls otherwise – and all the fans were gunning for Minah to take it all the way.

But now Charlotte, it seems, is the master Traitor of them all. Time will see if the contestants finally see through her random fake Welsh accent she’s adopted to make herself seem more trustworthy. Uhuh…

The Traitors final airs on BBC One at 8.30pm tomorrow evening.
