Amanda Holden ‘to present new The Traitors show on the BBC’

The BBC has reportedly found a brand new TV show to fill the void left by The Traitors.

The nation has been twiddling their thumbs since Friday when season 3 came to a dramatic conclusion, with faithfuls Leanne Quigley and Jake Brown splitting the £94,600 jackpot.

The finale episode was watched live ‘average audience of 7.4million on Friday night’, making it the most watched The Traitors episode ever in BBC One’s history.

Now, the BBC are reportedly hoping to replicate the ratings success of the ultimate game of deception with a new quiz show presented by ITV legend Amanda Holden.

It’s been claimed the broadcaster has commissioned The Inner Circle, a show involving ‘intrigue, mystery and treachery’, after a pilot was well received by bosses last year.

Contestants will be quizzed on general knowledge but must also team up with fellow players – who they may not be able to trust – in order to bag the cash prize.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Although this is a different concept to The Traitors it taps into many of its devious elements.’

The Inner Circle is not the only Traitors-style show coming to the BBC.

Destination X will see ten contestants embark on an epic road trip to some incredible locations – but there’s a catch.

Thanks to a bus with blacked-out windows, they’ll be completely clueless as to where exactly they are in the world. To ensure the secret is kept, whenever they leave the bus, competitors will wear masks that blur their vision.

Their journey will become a real-life board game with clues buried in challenges. They need to watch out though as there will be misdirects to keep them, and the viewers, on their toes.

Once gameplay is done, the group cannot escape and will live on the bus. The bus has plenty of space for many cameras and microphones to capture every bit of drama, and ten bunks for the competitors to sleep in.

In order to win, they must figure out where they are and the person furthest away from the correct answer will leave the bus. The first player to reach the final destination, Destination X, will be crowned the winner.

Later this year, there will also be the very first UK celebrity version of The Traitors.

The line-up has not been announced but rumoured names include Alan Carr, Daisy May Cooper, Stephen Fry and Bob Mortimer.

Celebrity Traitors will follow the same format as the original version. The rules of the show are relatively simple but lead to a game of complicated deceit.
There are two teams – Traitors and Faithfuls. The Traitors must not be discovered to win, and the Faithfuls must try to discover who they are to win.

Each day every remaining person votes for who should be banished in a round table, and the surviving Traitors get to then secretly murder players too.

Usually, the contestants are playing to win the pot of £100,000, but celebrity versions often see the stars playing for charity.
