Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win viewers have been left fuming over one question (Picture: ITV)
Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win viewers have been left raging over a ‘poorly-worded’ question.
NHS workers Karis and Tim were hoping to win some life-changing money on the ITV gameshow to help their family and friends, and buy their first home.
And though they didn’t make it far enough in the game to score a six-figure sum as they’d hoped, they did walk away with an impressive £50,000 – despite one very confusing question.
‘The iconic K6 red telephone box, designed in 1935, has how many glass window panes on either side?’ hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly read out.
‘Is that two sides or all four sides?’ Tim questioned.
Karis replied: ‘I think it’s each side.’

It was a tense final few seconds (Picture: ITV)
They began to count their way across and down an imaginary telephone box, concluding there could be around 18 panes.
‘It’s not going to be one lot of three, it’s not going to be two lots of three,’ they continued to ponder, as Ant and Dec warned them that time was running out.
With only 16 lives left the couple decided to settle on an answer of 16, after a lot of back and forth about whether they had made the right decision.
Having locked in with just a few tense seconds to go, Ant was left saying: ‘I can’t stand this game!’
Dec added: ‘You keep playing questions you don’t know! My heart is beating now for you.’

But viewers didn’t blame them for not knowing this one, arguing the question was ‘badly-worded’.
‘The word either literally means “of two”. That was terribly/incorrectly worded,’ one person, Fiona, fumed.
Viewer @RockRamrod agreed, saying: ‘Poorly worded question. Happy for nurses to get a big win though.’
Corinne said: ‘That was a badly worded question on the telephone box it said in each side not altogether.’
Oli said: ‘#LimitlessWin “either” suggests 2? Are there only two sides that have glass panels? I’m sure the door has panels too.’

But others noticed one side doesn’t have a panel (Picture: X)
Replying to their comment, Lee said: ‘I have no idea what either side meant! The back is covered so there are two glass panels either side and then glass panels in the door. There are 24 panes of glass on each side x 3 = 72.’
Another comment from Oli read: ‘#LimitlessWin “either” suggests 2? Are there only two sides that have glass panels? I’m sure the door has panels too.’
‘I just counted the panes of glass on a British telephone box and there are 71 on all 3 sides. What are they on about? 24 on one side but another has 23 because of the pull sign,’ Soph argued, sharing a picture of one box that did have eight rows of panes on two sides of the telephone box, and the same on the third side with one pane removed for the ‘pull sign’.
Ken agreed that K6 telephone boxes had 72, saying: ‘The glass is arranged in eight rows of three panes, with a wider central pane and two narrow outer panes.’
Several worked out the right answer (Picture: X)
Karis and Tim also considered there being 18 panels (Picture: X)

Meanwhile, @ShaGGy_UK came out with a different answer, saying: ‘#LimitlessWin your answer is incorrect. British telephone boxes have 25 panes of glass as the TELEPHONE at the top is a Glass Panel also.’
The correct answer turned out to be 24, leaving Karis and Tim through to the next question, as they had enough lives to carry them over from 16.
But following a Jumanji-related question, the pair did end up cashing out instead of using their Lifeline on the next round, leaving the game with a cup of tea from guest star Jane McDonald and £50,000.
‘That’s incredible! £50,000 is a massive amount of money and it’s definitely going to change and impact our lives, and others as well, so thank you so much for the opportunity,’ Tim said.
‘It’s been gripping!’
Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win continues tomorrow night at 8pm on ITV1.
