Gogglebox star Daniel Lustig has expressed his devastation over splitting from his ex-husband Stephen Webb.
The reality stars shocked fans when they announced their separation in April last year after 11 years together and six married.
At the time, they said they had ‘unfortunately grown apart’ but there would always be ‘a lot of love’ between them.
They’ve since continued to show their support for each other and demonstrated how close their friendship is.’
But Daniel has now spoken about how ‘devastating’ the breakdown of their relationship was, saying he ‘didn’t see it coming’.
He said: ‘For me, it was traumatic and although I knew things weren’t great, I didn’t see it coming.’

‘It was awful,’ he added, calling the split ‘very upsetting’ and ‘completely devastating’.
He continued by saying the process of their separation was slow, saying: ‘We were completely entwined for so long, with our businesses, the dogs, we were so close in everything we did.’
Speaking on podcast Suddenly Single, he went on: ‘There was nothing underhand happening, no-one had slept with anyone else.’
He added that their split came down to the pair being ‘opposites’ saying: ‘Stephen was the complete opposite to me, and we’d say opposites attracted, but fundamentally that was our problem in the end.’

The former couple are still living together and trying to sell their apartment in Brighton, but now sleep in separate bedrooms, and have found a way ‘to work together, live together and be dog dads’.
He said: ‘We cohabit really well together. [The split] was quite a slow process, for a while we were still sleeping in the same bed, even after we had said we were going to split up.
‘Then when Stephen went on Celebs Go Dating we agreed we’d sleep in separate bedrooms.’
His comments come after Daniel insisted last year that they’d had ‘a really good innings’.

He said on the My Dirty Laundry podcast: ‘You really get to know someone and yourself, and it was really good for a really long time, and then it kind of petered off, and then we kind of decided the best thing was to end as friends.
‘We’re work colleagues, and partners at work as well, and our basis of our relationship has always been friendship as well.’
Daniel, 48, joined Stephen, 52, on Gogglebox from series 13 in 2019.
They both quit the programme in 2023 to ‘explore other opportunities’, with Stephen going on to star on Dancing On Ice (though he was forced to quit after an injury) and Celebs Go Dating.

During his time on Celebs Go Dating, Stephen sparked backlash for his behaviour on dates while filming, with Daniel later stepping in to defend him.
Stephen had been one of the original stars of Gogglebox, alongside his former partner Christopher Steed.
After Christopher left the Channel 4 programme in 2017, Stephen’s mother Pat Webb took his place from series 10 to 12.
