British popstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor has revealed she has a personal connection to one of the contestants on The Traitors.
The 00s popstar was stopped by a BBC reporter on Carnaby Street, London, earlier this month and was asked for her take on the Claudia Winkleman show.
The Murder on the Dancefloor singer mused: ‘I just spend a lot of time thinking about whether or not I’d be a good traitor.
‘And also I realised I went to school with one of the contestants.’
Sophie did not divulge any further details about the player in question – including their identity – but sleuths on TikTok have a theory.
Users, including @Daren and @dying_of_cringe_, believe the Get Over You hitmaker, 45, went to school with interior designer Francesca, 44, as they are both a similar age.

@GeraintRamon had another reason: ‘I think she went to school with Francesca I was actually thinking Fran wears similar clothes to Sophie. Sophie had a similar cardigan to Fran when I met her last year.’

Sophie went to St Stephen’s School, Twickenham for primary school before attending the private Godolphin and Latymer School in Hammersmith.
Francesa, meanwhile, trained as an actress – a fact she has concealed from her fellow faithfuls – before launching an interior design business with no prior experience.
She also revealed she kept her participation in The Traitors a secret from her own sons: ‘I’m lying to my kids about what I’m doing, because they don’t know the reason I’m going away. I’ve made up this very elaborate lie and it just gets worse and worse.’

Francesca has managed to make it to the finale of the reality TV show – but fans had previously begged the BBC to give her more airtime after several ‘iconic’ moments.
On one, as they raced around the Scottish Highlands finding faithfuls hidden in coffins during a task, Francesca opted to wear snakeskin slingback shoes which ‘cemented her icon status’ according to @RyanJL.
She also urged the driver of their car to ‘go a bit faster’ because, as she declared in all seriousness, ‘there’s someone in a coffin.’

When they reached the final destination of the task, they had to find the grave marked eight, but Francesca got her roman numerals mixed up and instead directed the team to number seven.
She then proceeded to crouch down and dig up the grave with her bare hands – appearing to believe producers had buried a faithful alive. They were later found above ground in a tomb.
On X, @napqueen3000 commented: ‘Francesca digging with her hands in her fancy slingbacks like someone actually is dying in a coffin. #TheTraitorsUK #TheTraitors.’
Echoing their sentiment, @HelloItsLevi said: ‘Francesca coming to run about in the woods in snakeskin slingbacks, shouting at the driver to hurry up and then getting numerals mixed up… it’s her time to shine I fear #TheTraitors.’
The Traitors finale airs tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
