Netflix has quietly released all seven seasons of a TV series that has been called ‘one of the greatest shows of all time’.
Hitting screens in 2007, Mad Men was set in 1960s New York and followed the staff of the Sterling Cooper advertising agency.
It starred Jon Hamm as Don Draper, the advertising executive regarded by his peers as a master of his craft as well as his family, friends and co-workers.
Elisabeth Moss played his secretary-turned-copywriter Peggy Olson, Vincent Kartheiser was the young and ambitious account executive Pete Campbell, January Jones was his wife Betty Draper and Christina Hendricks played officer manager Joan Holloway.
In its review of the first season, Empire Magazine called the show ‘compulsive TV’ while TV Guide said it was a ‘sleek, sexy and smartly cynical drama’.
‘Cannot think another movie or a series which made such realistic momentum. Once you are in and settled there’s no way out,’ one fan posted on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

‘Love to binge watch this show! Addicting!’ someone else posted.
‘Mad Men is the most provocative and poetically written TV series I have seen,’ another added.
It was also ranked as the greatest show of the 21st century by The Hollywood Reporter in 2023.
Mad Men ran for 92 episodes across seven seasons and won critical acclaim throughout its run, winning 16 Emmys and five Golden Globes.
It also won the Emmy for outstanding drama series for its first four seasons and currently holds 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This month all seven seasons were released on Netflix, news celebrated by fans.
‘Mad Men on Netflix UK? We are so back,’ Byron posted on X.
‘Mad Men on Netflix? Don’t mind if I do (third time),’ Mario shared.
‘Mad Men back on Netflix, apologies to all the new tv shows this year I probably wasn’t going to watch anyway but now definitely won’t,’ Josh added.
A few years ago, Jon spoke about how auditioning for this show left him desperate to be cast.
‘I can vividly remember (that first audition). My audition process for that was long and arduous,’ he told Metro.

‘It was about seven or eight auditions over the course of a month, and each one, you can’t have a bad day. You have to bat 1000. You can’t follow an off in one of the auditions and suddenly they’re like, “Oh come back.” They’re like, “Oh I guess you suck, so leave.”
‘It was stressful, but it was exciting. I think it was one of the first times in my career that I really doubled down and said I’m going to get this. This is a good one. Turns out, it was.’
He also shut down speculation the series could be rebooted, saying the cast and crew were ‘pretty happy with how the story ended’.
‘I don’t think there’s anyone in the cast that wanted to spin it off or revisit it. I don’t think [creator] Matthew Weiner wants to either. He’s pleased with how he finished up that chapter,’ he added.
Mad Men is streaming on Netflix.
