Netflix crime thriller Missing You has proven itself a huge success securing 36,900,000 views and counting since the start of the year.
Missing You is the latest Harlan Coben adaptation starring Richard Armitage to arrive on the streaming platform.
The show, based on the 2014 novel of the same name, follows Detective Kat Donovan (Slow Horses star Rosalind Eleazar) whose life takes a turn when she comes across her ex-fiance Josh on a dating app – someone who mysteriously disappeared 11 years ago.
Richard, 53, stars as DCI Ellis Stagger, a mentor to Kat and a close friend to her late dad who was murdered years before.
The series also stars Ashley Walters, Steve Pemberton and Sir Lenny Henry as well as a ‘bizarre’ cameo from Busted’s Matt Willis and I’m A Celeb’s GK Barry.
As usual, it’s packed with plenty of twists and turns quintessential of Harlan Coben thrillers which has proved addictive for Netflix viewers.

In its first week, it landed 21.7 million views, followed by 15.2 million in week two, with the numbers only set to increase over the coming weeks.
Speaking about the ‘insatiable appetite’ for thrillers, The Hobbit star told Virgin Radio: ‘I think it’s why I’ve returned to do four Harlan Coben thrillers for Netflix because what he’s doing in his drama, in his books and the adaptations, is he’s got his finger on the pulse of something very current.’
Although fans have rushed to binge the six-episode series, there has been some discourse over the ‘unsatisfying ending’ and ‘dumb plot holes’. But fans will just have to make their mind up for themselves.
A four-star review for the Metro reads: ‘Missing You is not the best TV, sure, but not everything on our screens has to be high-art. What the show does offer is sheer entertainment value with gripping twists and a pacey plot.’
The impressive viewing figures for Missing You come after a mammoth triumph for Fool Me Once last year.
The Harlan Coben series featuring Dame Joanna Lumley and Michelle Keegan has landed 98.2million views in total, making it the most-watched English-language debut series globally in 2024.
As of right now, it is also the eighth most popular show of all time, beaten only by shows like Bridgerton, Wednesday and Stranger Things.

There is set to be a 10th adaptation, Run Away, written by Danny Brocklehurst (Picture: Netflix)
Missing You is the ninth Coben novel to be adapted to the small screen with Netflix agreeing to 14 in total so we have plenty more murder mysteries to look forward to – likely all starring Richard.
The next series will be Run Away written by Brassic creator Danny Brocklehurst.
A synopsis for the upcoming show reads: ‘Simon had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart.
‘So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she’s not alone and an argument escalates into shocking violence that will shatter Simon’s life all over again.
‘His search for his daughter will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.’
Missing You is available to stream on Netflix. There is currently no release date for Run Away.
