Netflix fans have just weeks left to binge a long-running crime series that has been hailed the best of all time.
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit began in 1999 as the first spin-off show from the wildly popular drama Law and Order.
Its 26th series premiered on October 3, 2024, with fans eagerly anticipating the news of the show’s renewal for a 27th.
Five series of the show are currently available to watch on Netflix in the UK – but only until February 14, at which point they’ll leave the service.
Seasons one to 25 are all available to buy either on Prime Video and Apple TV – or both – but the move means none will be free to stream with a subscription service.
Fans have aired their shock over the move, claiming its removal from the service left them ‘absolutely gutted.’

The show currently holds a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, with fans giving it an even higher 83% on the Popcornmeter.
In 2019, the series became the longest-running primetime live-action series on American television.
SVU has aired more than 550 episodes, surpassing the episode count of the original Law and Order.
It has been nominated for 108 awards, nabbing 33 with Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson, becoming the first cast member in any Law and Order series to win an Emmy Awards.
