A crime drama that follows an investigation into an incident that sees an innocent bystander caught up in a police chase is finally available to binge.
Released in Australia last year, the series Critical Incident stars British actor Akshay Khanna (Red, White & Royal Blue) as Senior Constable Zil Ahmed who pursues a suspect at a train station while off duty.
It all kicks off when police are sent to an out-of-control part in Western Sydney, however in the ensuing chaos Constable Sandra Ali (Roxie Mohebbi) is brutally attacked by one of the teenagers.
After hearing about what’s unfolded, and believing he’s spotted one of the suspects, Zil starts chasing down Dalia Tun (Zoe Boe).
However, a shocking accident then occurs, and a bystander is critically injured, leaving authorities forced to figure out what happened.
When Zil discovers Dalia was not the perpetrator, he then becomes obsessed with pinning something on her.

When the series first aired, Screenhub’s review said Critical Incident was ‘smart and gripping’.
The Age wrote: ‘Everything in Critical Incident, from the set-up, through the pacey plotting to the character and relationship development and the resolution is inventive and thoughtfully considered.’
‘Great show, good story line. Riveting,’ Kim shared.

‘It was incredible, gripping viewing…addictive, compelling and realistic,’ user finegansf posted on IMDB.
‘Nuanced and layered, the show addresses issues of race, prejudice and the failings inherent in our criminal justice, child protection and policing systems,’ Camilla added.
Meanwhile, many others begged for a second season to be greenlit.

Inspired by creator Sarah Bassiuoni’s real life experiences working as a lawyer in the juvenile justice system, she previously spoke about the ‘multi-layered’ story she created.
‘It’s a story about trauma, but mostly about resilience — especially what happens to young people that are in the criminal justice system,’ she told Mamamia.
This week all six episodes were released in the UK for the first time, with the series available to stream for free on ITVX.
Critical Incident also stars Hunter Pahe-Lochard, Kai Waetford and Erik Thomson.
Critical Incident is now streaming on ITVX.
