The Traitors star Joe has acknowledged his colossal mistake on the BBC series.
During his time on the show, the 37-year-old English teacher came up with an incorrect theory that led to a banishment of a faithful. To give him credit it’s not an easy game and they have to base their votes on something!
He built up false evidence on faithful Kasim, 33, and took issue with the doctor confidently given a speech at one of the breakfast tables. Kasim’s job was even used against him at a dramatic roundtable, leading him to say: ‘You’re basically calling me Harold Shipman.’ Shipman was a GP who took the lives of an estimated 250 of his patients over two decades before being caught.
Kasim has since apologised for the comparison, and on the most recent episode of spin-off series Uncloaked, it was Joe’s turn to say sorry.
When asked by host Ed Gamble about how he was able to remove himself from drama in later episodes, and treat the show like the game it is, Joe explained it came back to his Kasim error. Joe felt so bad that he decided to sit back a little more.
‘I feel like I owe the nation a public apology with Kaz,’ he stated.

Justifying his rationale for believing it was Kasim, he added: ‘Everyone is saying “Why did you go for poor Kaz?”

‘Back at the very first round table we were all gunning for Linda and Kaz was very defensive of her so straight away I was like, suspicious. Then Armani was very defensive of Kaz as well.
‘She cornered me in the kitchen and was like “I’m very concerned, why are you bringing up Kaz’s name?” I thought: “Why does that bother you?” So I got that seed in my head.’

Joe added that he never would have been suspicious if it was only the toast but instead it was a combination of events.
‘That spark became a flame, became a fire. I couldn’t stop but after that, when I got it so wrong, I felt so bad that I thought I’m going to take a backseat now. I’m just going to enjoy the roundtables,’ he recalled.
Although viewers were sad when fan-favourite Kasim went home and partly blamed Joe, recently banished player Minah was keen to highlight his incredible presence in the castle. She praised Joe for always picking people up in the castle and said he was the king of one-liners.
Also in the episode, a shocked Joe discovered that Minah, 29, was a traitor.

When the remaining cast voted her out, including fellow traitor Charlotte, 32, Minah said a few words that viewers were convinced provided a clue.
On exiting and revealing her identity as a Traitor, Minah clarified: ‘I am, and have been from the start, a Traitor’ – leading some to suspect she was hinting there is a recruited Traitor hiding in plain sight.

Talking to the cameras following her exit, Minah seemed gobsmacked after Charlotte’s betrayal.
‘You take them under your wing and they do you dirty,’ she said.
With just two episodes to go, Charlotte has recruited Freddie, hoping that the players banish him tonight and she continues to remain undetected. What are we going to do when it ends on Friday? At least we have The Traitors US being added to BBC iPlayer to keep us fed.
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One. Uncloaked airs immediately after on BBC Two.
