The Traitors star Evie Morrison has revealed she ‘came out’ during an episode of the BBC series last year.

The 30-year-old veterinary nurse from Inverness in Scotland appeared on the last season of the show.

A Faithful throughout the competition, she made it all the way to the final but was eventually banished as the remaining group attempted to hunt down a Traitor – ultimately failing when Harry Clark made it to the end and scooped the entirety of the prize money.

In the penultimate episode, the final five sat down for a dinner party and discussed what they would do with the money if they won.

‘I’d just get a bigger place I think. We are in a one-bed flat with two dogs and a missus, so it would be nice to get a big garden,’ she shared.

Now, a year on, Evie has said her comments were effectively her revealing her sexuality publicly.

‘A year ago, I innocently came out on national telly at a dinner party hosted by Claudia Winkleman when I casually mentioned I had a missus,’ she began in an Instagram post.

‘I never had a big coming out moment in my real life, just started dating women and everyone kinda got on board with it (how lucky am I) but this moment took me from Blonde Number 3 to someone that gay twitter could really root for looooool only for me to fumble it at the end. Oops!’

She then added: ‘Here’s my fave tweets from my casual low key lesbian reveal, gay twitter you’re still a fickle lil f*** but I love u for it <3 #traitors.’

After The Traitors aired, Evie also posted a photo with her partner Kayleigh on Twitter, writing: ‘Sorry guys forgot to mention. Here’s my missus Kayleigh and the two rescue dogs I need £100k for. Not the most inspiring story I just want a garden lol.’

Before appearing on the show, Evie explained why she’d decided to sign up.

‘I’m 29, so it’s the last year of my 20s and I think I may be having a bit of an existential crisis about turning 30, just overthinking it a bit too much. When I turned 29, I said to myself, “I’m going to do 30 things before I’m 30 that I’ve always wanted to do”. I ran the Edinburgh Marathon this year, I’ve visited Scottish islands, and I do a lot of hiking,’ she shared.

The Traitors finale airs tonight at 8.30pm on BBC One, with previous seasons available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
