The truth behind a ‘secret relationship’ theory between two stars of The Traitors has been exposed.
Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery gameshow is full of manipulation, lies and blistering betrayals and so far, several of the contestants have revealed to viewers that they are not who they seem.
Lisa Coupland eventually confessed to her fellow players that she is a really an ordained Anglican priest, while Leanne Quigley is hiding behind the façade of being a nail technician, when she’s actually a veteran.
The biggest (and wildest) lie – aside from who the Traitors actually are, of course – is Charlotte Berman, pretending to be Welsh so she can seem more ‘trustworthy’.
But fans think there’s another secret that has yet to come to light, and it has to do with a link between the players.
In season one, we had the dramatic ‘red breakfast’ reveal where Tom Elderfield and Alex Gray confessed to the others that they were secretly in a relationship, and last year, we had the Bafta-worthy moment from Diane Carson where she told viewers that Paul Gorton wasn’t her son, ‘But Ross is…’

This year, sisters Armani and Maia Gouveia joined the game and were honest of their relationship from the outset, but viewers think there’s still another relationship being kept hidden.
Theories so far have involved Lisa and Alex Oleksy being mother and son, or mother-in-law and son-in-law, and Francesca Rowan-Plowden and Freddie Fraser also being mother and son.
But some viewers think Charlotte and British diplomat Alexander Dragonetti, who joined the players late in the game after ‘sacrificing’ himself during the first challenge, are actually married.

‘What about Alexander and Charlotte as a secret couple? There were certain vibes, body language… and would explain the fake Welsh accent maybe,’ @ellebeedee wrote on X.
‘So I’m thinking…. Alexander and Charlotte are deffo related, hence the fake accent,’ @mrsryanx agreed.
Meanwhile, over on TikTok, viewer Sammy Lea asked: ‘Anyone else think these two are actually a couple in real life?’
They continued: ‘Hear me out… She’s admitted that she’s putting on a Welsh accent…. tricky to maintain for weeks.. yet is a very well spoken Londoner. He is also based in London.
‘Having two sisters in the show would already throw people off the scent of having a second connected pair in the game.
‘Tonight when playing the cage game Charlotte gave Alexander a huge smile as she dropped a coin in to lower him and he over-compensated by shouting, “Thank you, I don’t know you but thank you.” Followed by the flirty body language in their interactions later that night.’
‘Omg yeah her eye contact is giving couple,’ one follower agreed, while several others commented: ‘Yes.’
But, despite the detective work from keen-eyed viewers, there’s no truth behind the theory.

In fact, Charlotte is married to a man named Alexander – but not the one from The Traitors.
The 33-year-old has posted several pictures with her partner over on Instagram, including one in September where they celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.
So it seems the only secret that Charlotte is hiding is the one from her fellow players – that she isn’t actually Welsh.
But that could all change tonight, after she was picked to be a Traitor by the last remaining one, Minah Shannon.

Ahead of the series airing, Charlotte said she would ‘do whatever it takes’ to win the game as a Traitor.
She said: ‘I will do whatever it takes, you have to! I think the thing with being a Traitor is that it gives you safety initially.
‘You’re safe from murder and you’re probably safe from maybe one or two roundtables.
‘But from that moment on, it’s the other Traitors that are going to turn on you and each other.
‘So, I think that although being a Traitor would be thrilling, it would be a fine art to play.’
The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
