Viewers are already raving about the return of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, after the launch of an intense first trailer.
Concerns that the new Disney Plus series wouldn’t live up to expectations have been well and truly shut down, with fans branding it ‘perfection’ and hailing: ‘We’re back.’
Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as blind-lawyer-come-crime-fighter Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil), while the new clip has also revealed the returns of several fan-favourite characters including Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) and Punisher (Jon Bernthal).
It opens with new Mayor of New York City Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) telling Murdock: ‘It’s not entirely unpleasant seeing you again,’ before viewers hear how Murdock has ‘come up in the world’.
‘I can’t shake the feeling you’re gaming the system,’ Murdock continues in the tense diner conversation, before explaining he stepped back from his superhero role because ‘A line was crossed’.

The trailer then promises some brutal action scenes, Murdock returning to save Hell’s Kitchen, and peace ‘being broken’ with ‘chaos reigning’.
‘I was raised to believe in grace but I was also raised to believe in retribution,’ Murdock vows, as the final moments of the trailer see him return to his iconic Daredevil suit.
Fans have been left on the edges of their seats after watching the two-minute clip, with many praising Disney+ for the exceeding expectations.

Daredevil originally ran from 2015 to 2018 on Netflix, leaving fans devastated when it joined several other Marvel properties to be cancelled on the streaming plaform.
At the time of its axe, Cox, 42, said: ‘A lot of us really expected to keep going, and I certainly did.
‘The truth is, I felt like we had a lot of stories to tell, and although I understand [the cancellation], I’m very saddened by that.

‘It’s just how business works. But also, these characters mean a lot to people. It’s weird to think there’s a chance I won’t be playing Matt Murdock ever again.
‘That’s a bizarre feeling, because that character has been such a huge part of my life for the last four and a half years.’
Cox, however, stated how he’d be up for returning to the role if given the chance, adding to EW: ‘I don’t know how this would happen, but maybe one day we could pick up the baton and do it again.’
Daredevil: Born Again will be available to stream on Disney+ from March 4.
